Pick of the Week
Memorial Day Weekend is upon us soon. If you are among the many heading to Cabo San Lucas, Baja California this holiday for some tropical fun, be sure to stop by Charlie Lapson’s Pick of the Week for some authentic Mexican food.
El Gordo Lele’s Tacos & Tortas is a known favorite of many visitors to this vacation spot. It is truly a taste of the local cuisine. Authentic tacos, tortas, and much more brought to you by the shop owner Javier.
Now, what makes this place truly special is the owner’s love of the English rock band The Beatles. The small restaurant’s walls are decorated with The Beatles’ posters, photos, and memorabilia. The shop may be small, but El Gordo Lele’s is a great example of how size doesn’t matter.
The owner Javier provides more than just some tasty meals. This tacos and tortas shop comes with entertainment! After grilling up your lunch or dinner, Javier puts on a show for all his guests with his rendition of classic Beatles’ songs. He comes out from the kitchen with his wig, faux guitar, and all! His lovable performance and great food is what keeps loyal customers coming back every time they visit Cabo San Lucas. Be sure to not miss out on this gem! Buen provecho!

Did You Know
The necktie for men is a classic fashionable accessory for all types of occassions. It's not uncommon to see women wearing this article of clothing either. While most of us are intrigued by the design, new trends or quality of ties today, we fail to know the history of this stylish look.
The necktie traces back to the time of Thirty Years' War (1618–1648) when Croatian military men in the French service, wearing their traditional small, knotted neckerchiefs, sparked the interest of the Parisians.
Due to the slight difference between the Croatian word for Croats, Hrvati, and the French word, Croates, the garment gained the name "cravat". In addition, the tie was also used more as a handkerchief around the neck for hygiene and climate purposes.
And the rest as they say is history- the new "cravat" became a huge fashion craze in Europe where both men and women wore pieces of fabric around their necks. Later in the 17th century, the men wore lace cravats that took more time and effort to arrange. These cravats were often tied in place by cravat strings, arranged neatly and tied in a bow. Throughout time, these neckties gradually became longer and longer.
So the next time you are tightening up that knot on your tie you will know how and where the necktie evolved from.

Top 10 Beach Essentials
Now that the weather is warming up, the beach will become a popular destination to visit. Here are our recommended top 10 beach essentials to bring with you while you lounge around in the sand and catch some sun.
1. SPF! Be sure to protect your skin from harmful UV rays and prevent premature aging and skin cancer.
2. Some colored shades will be fun to wear at the beach while shielding your eyes from the bright sun.
3. Your scalp can sunburn too! Wearing a big floppy hat will double as sun protection as well as a stylish accessory.
4. Bring a lightweight cover-up to wear to and from the beach, that way you can go straight to dinner or meet up with friends for a drink right after.
5. Just in case you accidentally spend too much time under the sun, keep some aloe vera handy to re-moisturize your skin.
6. Listen to some tunes while you're lounging with a portable player like the iPod shuffle.
7. Bring towels to layout on and dry yourself off with after dipping in the water.
8. A chic stylish bag such as this Charlie Lapson teal tote will hold all your essentials!
9. H2O! Don't forget a water bottle (or 2) to keep yourself hydrated.
